Mode of genetic inheritance
According to Genetics Home Reference, most cases of Poland syndrome are not inherited and occur in people with no history of the disorder in their families. But sometimes, this condition is passed through generations in families. In these cases, the condition appears to be inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern, meaning that if someone inherits at least one gene carrying the disease from one of their parents, that person will have the disease.
